In the winter months the Gold course is transformed and groomed into a cross-country ski trail. There is a large hill that they groom for sledding. One of my favorite ways to spend a day it to take the kids to the sled hill and sled till we are frozen. After that we change into swimming suits and dive into the geothermal pool to warm up. To put the perfect end to the day we stop into the restaurant in the clubhouse and have a fantastic dinner by one of the many windows that over look the gold course and the panoramic setting that is all Terrace Lakes Res ort.

Southfork Landing is another area of Garden Valley that has unique recreational activities. There is currently a tubing hill with a towrope to pull you to the top of the hill. There are 6 lanes for tubing that offers you everything from a mild ride to a crazy and extreme tubing adventure. The tubing hill is very popular so be sure to make reservations in advance with Idaho X-Sports. Southfork Landing and its vendors are also in the process of installing a white water park. Plum Jack resorts will be building a resort, spa and fine dining restaurants.

If you go further out the Middle fork Road into the Boise National Forest you can spend a day at Silvercreek Plunge Family Resort with its year round hot springs pool. This is a fantastic day trip either in your car or on a 4–wheeler. Bring your lunch and stop at one of many camping and picnic areas along the Middlefork River or avoid the fuss and let them cook you a great big juicy hamburger with all the works poolside.
